We are fortunate to have a neutral field for our Regional Championships. We have procured the use of the small stadium-like field at Ione Jr. High. This will be our first time being able to use our local schools and we need your help in ensuring that it will not be the last.
- This is a school, so we must care for the venue at all times we are there. Dogs MUST be on leash unless working. CLEAN UP! During official practice days, do NOT go onto the actual school grounds. Stay only in the stadium/ball field area.
So that people don’t panic, in addition to the traditional day prior to the event practice time, our club has arranged two additional days for people to practice while we are there. August 10 and August 24. Both days will tentatively start at 10:00am unless other arrangements are made. These days will not be as structured as the official practice day. You can take as much time as you would like (within reason and other people there). We will make sure that everyone gets whatever they need on those days. If you cannot make the first day, but do make the second day, you will have priority so that we ensure everyone gets practice on the field prior to the event.
You must RSVP for the practice days. We will organize obedience first, followed by protection (if we need to, we will break it up into two ob/protection sessions). You must bring your own helper. Friday the 13th practice will be tightly time structured and controlled as is traditional at regional/national events. There will be a field fee for these days UNLESS you are registered (and paid) prior to the practice day. There is NO FIELD FEE if you are REGISTERED/PAID. Access will be tightly controlled at this venue. Competitors are NOT allowed to practice at the venue outside of authorized practice times. It was our sincere hope to help people prepare for big events by experiencing a neutral venue. However, abuse of this venue will cause this club to lose it. Do NOT contact the school to be the exception. Competitors are NOT allowed access on their own at the venue. Any violation of this will unfortunately result in being Disqualified. Please don’t put us in that position, just abide by the rules. And if you make the mistake of thinking we won’t know, this is a small town, with only one entrance to the school…we will know. We have neighbors/PD/FD all within 2 blocks of the school who are aware of the rules. We hope that if this is a success, we may be able to use the high school stadiums in the future.
